About

I spent 25 years deciding what companies said when it mattered.

For five years I was eBay's lead spokesperson. That meant fraud, security and legal crises, and some days forty interviews, for a business that ran entirely on trust between strangers. At HP I ran U.S. media relations through the Mark Hurd resignation. I was LinkedIn's first corporate communications lead, from 2010 to 2016: I built the function from nothing, and took the company through its IPO and the $26 billion Microsoft acquisition. After that came Pandora, Samsung NEXT and realtor.com, where I ran communications, editorial and economic research.
The whole time, the job was the same: decide what the company says, make sure it's true, and be ready when it goes wrong.

Why owner-led businesses, and why now

Big companies have people for this. A four-location dental group or a regional law firm doesn't. Until recently it didn't need them. Now customers ask AI who to call, and AI answers with whatever is already out there: reviews, directory listings, a stray news story, the website you haven't touched since 2019. What AI says about you is now your marketing and your reputation. Most owners have never seen it.

I checked my own first

When I asked Gemini about myself, it described me almost exactly the way I'd describe myself. That isn't because I'm clever. It's because I've said the same things, consistently and in public, for 25 years. When I asked Google about Red Dog Strategies, its AI Overview described an unrelated political consultancy. So I'm fixing my own first, and I'll publish the before and after.

Next step
Let’s find out what AI says about you.
Thirty minutes, no deck. I'll run the questions your customers ask while you watch, show you what comes back, and tell you honestly whether anything is worth fixing. Sometimes the answer is "not yet."
